Adolescents & Women

Adolescents

I have over 15 years experience working with adolescents with anxiety, trauma, self-injury and depression. Adolescence is a time of transition when teens begin to become more independent. It can be a time of change, stress and growth for both the adolescent and the parent-child relationship. Adolescents begin to challenge their parents, spend more time with friends and test limits and rules as they separate physically and emotionally from their families.

Therapy can help adolescents with identity development, prioritizing interests and goals, building self-esteem, making better choices, developing healthy coping skills and regulating emotions. Therapy may consist of individual therapy and/or family therapy. In every situation, the unique needs of the adolescent and their family are assessed.

Women

It is my goal to support women as they grow and create balance in their lives. By gaining insight and awareness, improving relationships and increasing your self-esteem, you can increase your satisfaction and happiness in your life. I offer support and hope for women as they travel through life’s many transitions. Issues addressed may include adjusting to college life, pregnancy, motherhood, body image, relationship changes, anxiety, depression, increasing self-esteem and healing from past trauma and abuse.

Through the caring and nurturing relationship created in therapy, we can end self-destructive patterns, strengthen relationships and build confidence.
